School Visits

With slavery being an integral part of the school curriculum since 2008, I am available to go into schools to talk about my family’s connection to the history. I was a teacher of modern languages in Secondary Schools for twenty years until December 1992.

Wyvern Technology College – Fair Oaks  Southampton, Hampshire

The history department created a pilot module introducing pupils to the Trans-Atlantic slave trade and I was called in as “slavery expert”. In 2011 the pilot was rolled out across Year 8 and I was invited again to talk with each class. I received an enthusiastic and informed response from the pupils and an article was published in the local schools magazine with the hopeful prospect that other schools may be involved in the project.
